SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: HA-SHEM ACADEMY AND RECENT JAMB CBT CENTRE REPORTS

In recent days, media reports have circulated regarding the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) review of Computer‑Based Test (CBT) centres following the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Among the institutions mentioned in these reports is HaShem Academy Limited, prompting the need for a clear and factual response.

This post is shared to provide clarity, correct misconceptions, and present the facts surrounding the situation as they occurred.

Respect for JAMB’s Mandate

Ha‑Shem Academy recognises and respects JAMB’s statutory responsibility to uphold examination standards and preserve the integrity of national assessments. Over the years, our CBT centre operated within this regulatory framework and maintained a strong record of compliance and operational excellence, earning recognition as one of the reputable CBT centres nationwide.

Prior to the events following the 2026 Mock UTME, there were no unresolved compliance issues or disciplinary actions involving Ha‑Shem Academy.

A Voluntary Decision, Formally Communicated

Following the 2026 Mock Examination, Ha‑Shem Academy Limited made a voluntary decision not to participate in UTME‑related examination activities for the year. This decision was formally communicated to JAMB via a letter dated 8 April 2026

The communication was non‑combative in tone and outlined specific concerns with the intention of encouraging dialogue and improving the working relationship between both parties. It is important to emphasise that this decision was not the result of sanctions, suspension, or blacklisting at the time it was made.

How the Narrative Changed

Rather than engaging in dialogue to address the concerns raised, the Academy experienced an adverse response from a specific official within the JAMB office. This was later followed by media publications in which Ha‑Shem Academy was singled out from a broader list of affected CBT centres and portrayed as failing to meet required operational standards.

Our legal advisers have since classified these publications as libellous and defamatory, noting that they do not accurately reflect the sequence of events nor the Academy’s historical standing as a CBT centre.

Reassurance to Partners and the Public

Ha‑Shem Academy Limited wishes to clearly reassure its partners, stakeholders, and the general public that it remains a duly registered and fully operational educational institution.

All academic programmes, professional certification courses, and digital training initiatives continue without interruption. The Academy’s long‑standing contribution to education, technology training, and skills development in Nigeria remains unchanged.

Commitment to Transparency and Due Process

Ha‑Shem Academy remains committed to transparency, accountability, continuous improvement, and constructive engagement with regulatory authorities. In line with these values, our solicitors are currently reviewing the matter and advising on the appropriate legal remedies available under Nigerian law.

Closing Note

This clarification is shared in the interest of accuracy, fairness, and responsible public discourse. Ha‑Shem Academy remains focused on its core mission of delivering quality education and professional training while upholding ethical standards in all its engagements.
